Today’s listening practice explores anger, resentment, and the willingness to see a person or situation differently without pretending it did not hurt.
Practice for Today
Close your eyes and notice one situation that brings up anger, irritation, resentment, or annoyance.
Then say:
“I am determined to see ______ differently.”
Examples:
“I am determined to see this conversation differently.”
“I am determined to see this person differently.”
“I am determined to see this situation differently.”
Do not force peace.
Just open the possibility that anger may not be the whole truth.
